PR: Plasmatreat Shanghai at the productronica China 2024

World novelty inline REDOX-Tool is now introduced to the Asian market: Reduction of metal oxides under atmospheric pressure conditions

After having presented its world innovation at the productronica in Munich, Germany, last November, Plasmatreat is now presenting this real innovation for the improvement of electronic reliability to the electronics industry. At productronica China, the subsidiary Plasmatreat Shanghai will demonstrate how to safely and effectively remove oxide layers from electronic components from March 20 to 22, 2024 at booth E6.6600. In general, processes in the electronics industry can be made more efficient and environmentally friendly with plasma systems that operate under atmospheric pressure conditions.

Introduing the REDOX-Tool: Alternative process to the usage of flux
Metal surfaces oxidize when they exposed to air and humidity and prevent the formation of perfect solder joint in production processes. The new and innovative REDOX-Tool, provides a remedy and can even eliminate the use of flux: The REDOX-Tool is a special production cell (Plasma Treatment Unit/PTU) and removes reliable and effective oxide layers in an inline process. The new system uses only a combination of nitrogen and hydrogen, eliminating the need for environmentally harmful formic or citric acids. The result of this plasma process is optimized surface adhesion and reliable adhesion in subsequent processes. This effectively reduces defects, delamination and product failure. The innovative REDOX-Tool also provides complete process control and product traceability. Manufacturers can use this new tool, for example, for the production and processing of semiconductors and power modules (IGBT).

“Visitors at productronica Shanghai will be able to see and evaluate Plasmatreat’s REDOX-Tool live in Shanghai at our booth E6.6600. Our team will be available for live demonstrations and explanations.”, explains Spencer Chen, General Manager of Plasmatreat Shanghai. "We are very excited to introduce the REDOX-Tool to the Asian market and that we therefore support the increasing challenges in the manufacturing processes of the electronics industry with innovative and inline plasma technology.”
